A Fond Farewell to Section Tashan (PGP 2007-09)

It’s that time of the year again when PGP2s realize that the end of their journey at IIM-A is in sight and reflect on all the good things that have happened over the past 2 years, the good times they had together and the wonderful moments that they shared. It all began with a ‘Senti NB 2009’ created on DBab- the lifeline of a student at IIM-A, which was filled with reflective thoughts, poems, wishes for the future and spam (old habits die hard here!!).
In true IIM-A tradition, the POTY (Poll of the Year) awards ceremony was held on 20th Feb, 2009. In the build-up to this event, the PGP2s came up with some of the wackiest awards for their fellow colleagues along with nominees. Some of the weirder awards included the ‘Ghar-Jamai’ award for the male residents of the female dorms and the ‘Hair today, gone tomorrow’ award for receding hairlines. The ceremony itself was studded with brilliant musical performances by the PGP2s, who covered artistes ranging from Nusrat Fatheh Ali Khan to System of a Down.
The evening was capped off with ‘Yalgaar’- the annual PGP1 vs PGP2 ultimate frisbee match. Frisbee, being the ‘national’ sport at IIM-A, and this match was competitive to the core but played in the best spirits. The match was won by the PGP1s, and in the end, all the PGP2s were left contemplating on the best 2 years of their life.
